Just put headers and duals on my '77 F150/302 and have a really nice 2 1/4 inch exhaust and good muffler that I removed. Looking at it under the P15 it looks like a real good fit with just a few slight mods. It's a little larger OD than stock but it should be okay. Figure I'll go ahead and run it right up to the exhaust manifold flange. Anyone see any problems arising from that.

Old rat,

Should be no problem. The ID from the head should not be larger than the exhaust valve in order to maintain proper back pressure but you have that covered by using the stock manifold. Even if there were to be a slight difference I doubt seriously it would effect our engines greatly if at all.

I am running a 2" pipe I made from straight stock, no muffler.

2 1/4 would have been better. I will try different mufflers later.

I sprayed my pipes with barbaque grill paint, still looks good after

several years.

Works and sounds fine. However I am a little concearned with tailpipe. Is it supposed to go between spare tire well and gas tank. That only gives maybe an inch clearance from tank using old hanger locations. Or does it go under the spare well ? From muffler back is still just tacked up so can change it. Advice please.

I believe mine goes between the tank and the spare tire well. If it were straight it would be lined up with the first bumper bolt out from the center.
