55 Fargo Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Hi all, making progress however slow it may appear.Got the roof and front clip primed. Next will be the doors, then rear quarters, rear fenders etc. I still need to do filer and high build primer and block sanding on top of this. Plan to have the rest of the car stripped and primed in acouple of weeks...........Fred Quote

Rodney Bullock Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 What you are doing looks great, How you are doing it is even better. Everyday you do a little more until that day comes when it's all done. It's great how a little primer can give hope to a project. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Rodney, How is your project going? Jim Yergin Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Fred..looking good...however I feel your pain with the siphon pot blaster..I did the one quarter panel on the 54 with the siphon pot due to a broken air dryer on the pressure pot. Replaced that and from there was able to do both doors, left rear quater, trunk lid, lower trunk panel and have it all cleaned and put away in 4 hours...makes all the difference in the world and I recommmend the 40 pound pot blaster from Harbor Freight to anyone who has the idea to blast large panels outside. My 5 Horse 60 gallon compressor ran this continually without fail for al that time..would cut off by the time I ran out of sand and bled the tank to refill.. PS..the use of this device is very smooth if you control your sand flow at all time..recommend that you shut flow prior to stop operation even if you are going to come back to do some more in a minute..I also found I never had to go above 1/3 open vlave on the sand for excellent results and less flow of sand..less heat..never had any indication of warpage..very low temp..cold to touch at all times.
