55 Fargo Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Anybody happen to know what the cab weighs on a 55 Dodge/Fargo....thanx Fred Quote
Dave72dt Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Can't tell you for sure, but three of us picked up a '51 cab . I had close to half of it and it didn't feel like more than a hundred pounds. I guessing maybe 275. I may put a scale under it over the weekend and get a better idea. Quote
Frank Ollian Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Is the 275 without doors and glass? Quote
Dave72dt Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Without. Cab completely stripped, wires, gauges, seat, everything out. just weighed the doors, again empty, at 46 lbs each. Quote
PatS.... Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 With or without mouse turds? I must have cleaned out 300 pounds from my Chrysler Quote
Dave72dt Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 w/o for the most part. there were few still in it, along with some used oat hulls, a couple rusty screws and nails. they're all gone now. Quote
55 Fargo Posted October 15, 2011 Author Report Posted October 15, 2011 Okay, so 1 Buddy, and I swapped the cab from the 1 ton, to the 1/2 ton frame, while my 9 YO Son Supervised, it went real smooth. Next spring will start the work on it, but plan to get running first and do a compression test, and see what I have for an engine. Here are some pics... Quote
TheMoose Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Good thing you had the 9 yo to make sure it was done right! Quote
