How Much of Andy B's Parts Are NOS?

I have Andy's catalog and there is no identification of NOS parts on a pice by piece basis. Anybody know how much of his mechanical parts are NOS? I know the rubber isn't.

I have received some NOS parts from A.B. The woven hood weather stripping on the top of fire wall for instance was definetely n.o.stock. Also set of brake shoes linings came in a torn 40's original box. Some dash board light bulbs came in 50's box also. In my opinion n.o.s. is not necessarily good thing when spare parts are considered...

Yet I have to say that I am in general satisfied with the parts and expertise of A.B. - I know many do not like him due his busy & straight forward way of handling customer calls. Neverthless Andy never let me down as Roberts have done: Roberts web page listed FALSE description & product code for an expensive wind shield rubber. When I received the sealing and reported it false, he refused all responsibility. I had to pay in full for another part and overseas freight. on top of that my car waited at work shop an extra fortnight due this. is only explanation was that he deals no returns for overseas shippings. Never will deal with Roberts any more.

Pekka, good to hear that someone else likes AndyB, I have been dealing with him for 25yrs and whilst his bedside manner can be a little direct I have always been pleased with the service regarding prompt shipping, fair prices and the correct, as ordered and requested parts....... no one is perfect but I agree that he seems to get a bad rap on here.......but whether the parts are NOS or new repo's so long as they work & fit properly then they'll do me.......oh, and this is not a paid commercial........lol.........andyd

it's up and down with him, i'd say. they're really hard to talk to sometimes,

sometimes they're just straight impertinent, but the last time i got a new guy

and he was really polite... so what can i say, you don't have too many options when you live overseas from them all.

whatever keeps the car running. 80% of his stuff was good IF they could deliver.

AND they have a good website, which is very helpful sometimes if you deal with long distance calls and time shift.

and pekka, you're right about NOS. last time i bout wiper arms i wanted new

but got NOS. just guess how long they lasted...

Well have to be more precise on my words (even if you all surely understood what I meant):

- It's nice to receive n.o.s. steel parts, providing they were properly stored

- BUT it really sucks to get dryed old rubber or any other sealings (as Fred got his wiper blades and I once got a lip seal - totally useless)

Then again, I can imagine how it is to run a spares inventory for 40's cars:

You're expected to carry an comprehensive selection of items, but some you get to sell once every third year. What do you do to items that have been sitting on the self for 60 yrs - Throw away, cancel once & for all?
