I would have enjoyed being there just for the sound of the engines. If memory serves me that's at El Toro MCAS in South California. I grew up near there and think I recognize the Santa Ana Mountains. I heard many types of aircraft take off from there as a kid and I like noise on a runway.

Greg, great observation because I, too, think the Tesla would have kicked butt and the only thing I can imagine that would keep them from entering one is the same reason Indy doesn't allow gas turbines; they don't make enough noise. All that rumbling and cog-swapping just to get their butts kicked by the whoosh of air around the car that sent them packing would simply not sell. It would be cool if Tesla would stage a race like that but they don't yet have the money for it. When they do I can only imagine the egg on the faces of other car makers.
