OT Easy way to make a hot dog stick & house report

Went to a wiener roast at the home of some friends yesterday afternoon.

Didn't have any forked sticks handy, so went to the Dollar store and

bought four forks for a buck each, along with some screws and washers.

Used some wood pieces found in the basement for handles.

Drilled one hole thru the handle and also used the loop that was already

there. The only drawback might be that if the plastic handle gets too

hot, it will melt. But, they made it thru ok this time.

Just thought I would share my "brilliant invention" for anyone interested.

And......they are now doing framing on the house.....so it's moving right

along. Don't know when they might be finished though....maybe by Christmas

if we're lucky.

Bob,

Good to see the progress on the house. I take it the room with the "safe room" will be a sunken bedroom?

Perhaps almost as important it's good to hear you and your friends are able to relax, even if it's only for a wiener roast. That's a good sign.

Hi Randy. The low area in front of the safe room will be the garage.

The bedroom/master bath will be right behind the "vault".

It's to a point where we can do some fun things from time to time now.

They had a "Great Day of Service" in Joplin yesterday, with people from

various churches coming together to do cleanup and repairs for residents

in parts of the city NOT affected directly by the tornado. They have done

this for the past few years.
