wildwilf Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Hello Last Saturday I bought a 53 fargo FP-1 Put it in the garage . Today I decided to see if it would start. The wiring is a mess but wired it enought go get it to roll over. The gentleman I bought it from said that it has been sitting since 1976 but what the heck (try anything once or ten time) Did all the usual stuff fresh gas etc. Rolled over about 6 time and started right up. you should have seen the smile on my face. Now for the questions Is a 53 dodge b4b the same truck I can find a wiring diagram for the dodge but not for the FP-1. Also did they make two styles of doors mine does not have vent windows, is it supposed to. Next I think someone changed the motor I'm sure that the number should start with T307 mine is a D43 or did they come with both? Thanks Wilf Quote
B1B Keven Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Welcome from the other Vancouver. D43 is a 1953 Dodge car engine. Probably a 230 ci. I don't see a listing for a T307. http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/dengines.html Quote
Merle Coggins Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Yup, like Kevin says, you have a Dodge car engine. But no worries, it'll be just fine. And yes, a Dodge B4B would be it's twin. Go ahead and use the Dodge truck wire diagram. Welcome Merle Quote
Desotodav Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Welcome to the forum Wilf. I'm running the original T307 motor in my 52 truck. Not all trucks had vent windows - use the search function from the menu bar to learn more. The truck wire diagram should be fine for you. Nice looking truck by the way. Good job on getting it running so easily. Desotodav Quote
