As I had posted earlier, I blew up my 218 on the way home from Joplin last month. Had a "new" 230 on the engine stand but work schedule and family stuff has slowed the process. Finally set it in place yesterday. Should have it fired and running this weekend. While I had everything out I took the opportunity to swap my very loose steering box with a good unit I picked up from Knighhawk quite a while back and a general sprucing up of the engine compartment.

I say "new" as the engine was rebuilt at some point not long before I purchased it. Tore it down and everything looked extremely clean inside and checked out OK. There was no sludge build up at all and the cylinders / bearings were all in good shape. The motor was pulled from a 57 Plymouth that a guy in Houston purchased and put a 360 in.

Anyway it was bored 30 over and has been balanced as evidenced by the massaging of the crank counterweights and rods. Not a bad deal for $150 bucks with the transmission and A/C pump attached.

Still need to take care of a few small details like looms for the plug wires and throttle linkage etc. Will update the progress once I have it running.
