dontknowitall
Ok, I like to know the following: I purchased a 802 radio and when pushing the buttons to adjust the stations I dont see the dail shift or move up or down with it.. Question: is that the way it should work?
Young Ed
Yup. The dial only moves when the dial button is pressed. The other buttons each have their own mini tuner under the buttons. Pull a button off and you should see a little clear dial.
dontknowitall
So, when you push the button the dial should shift as well to a different position? Edited June 1, 2011 by dontknowitall
Young Ed
Nope. Only way to move the dial pointer is with the dial button pressed and turning the tuning knob at the bottom.
dontknowitall
ok, so then it is as the following: When ever or what ever buttons are pushed, the dail always stays at the same position..is that right?

dontknowitall
Although it does not make sense why they have put push buttons mechanism in place that does not shift the dail..(therefore you can never check up what station you are on.)...I thank you very much for clarifying this.. regards ryan
Bob_Koch
802 owners manual is on DPETCA site: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/802/imgcol/contact_1.htm
Young Ed
Bob these directions mention the color changing tone control but the car side has discovered not all 802 were built with that. Mine doesn't have it.

Young Ed
Maybe it has red yellow green which indicates music mello and voice(not necessarily in that order). I think part of it was to match the color changing speedometers in the cars.
