New to forum... Paul in New Jersey. I have a 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe.(project) I recently ordered and received a brake line kit off off of ebay. Three of the lines are 1/4" and the others are 3/16". All the lines on my car are 3/16" and is that what they should be? I never saw a car with two different line sizes.

Some of the stuff being sold on ebay is #%&& ! Does anyone have a good source for brake suspension parts. Thanks alot and will be posting more questions?

Paul, I cant answer your question but you will have a better response by posting to the general discussion area. The tech sectioin is usually for posting repairs, and tech short cuts or how folks have fixed their problems. Welcome to the group but you might want to copy paste this to the other section.

You should be able to buy whatever you need at the nearest auto parts store. They all carry brake lines in various lengths. Today's cars use the same type of brake lines, they are a standard size and fittings. Get a bending tool and a set of line wrenches while you are there.

If you want to be really particular you can also get a flaring tool and cut the lines to the exact length and reflare them. But most times if the line is a little too long you just put an extra bend or loop in it.

I like to prebend the line using the old line as a guide. But if you do not have the old line you can bend the line as you install it.

You can get whatever you need a local NAPA, Just be sure you get the standard flare if you buy the premade lines. If you do your own flares they should be double flares made by using a adapter with the flaring tool. I usually just use the premade and couple them together. Its been a few years since I worked on a p15 but as I think its all 3/16
