aero3113 Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) My Wife,Zoe and I went out today for a birthday drive today in the Plymouth. We were cruising down the road and the engine just quit, was able to coast to a side street and trouble shoot.Tried to start it and no luck. I found a wire that looked like it was shorting out near the distributor. I re-routed the wire and the car started right up. We drove to a local pond and hung out for a while. We decided to go home and the car started right up, while getting to the entrance of our development the engine died again. A few neighbors helped push it into a good parking spot. This time I wasn't able to start it. I played around under the hood for a while with no luck. I decided to look at the glass bowl on the fuel pump and sure enough I was out of gas . Earlier I noticed that my gauge was low but it slipped my mind . I guess the wire was nothing to worry about. All and all it was a easy fix and I had a great day . Now of to a nice steak dinner . 1940plymouth Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Happy Birthday and so pleased that your trip in the Plymouth worked out well on both accounts:) Enjoy the steak tonight. Cooper and I were out and about today also in the "Wayback Machine" but we didn't take any photos this time Quote
oldodge41 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Oh sure, the old "looks like we are out of gas at the lake" trick! Now I understand the part about a birthday present too.............Tim p.s. The car looks great! Quote

Usually you watch the submarine races at night but maybe he ran outta gas before he planned to! Happy birthday by the way and your car looks great! Edited April 10, 2011 by RobertKB Quote
