Mustang6147 Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Hello, I have a 1941 Plymouth. I put the Fatman fab dropped uprights, and disk brakes ect.... I need shocks... so has anyone else used this kit? if so what shocks did you use, I hate to measure then star trying shocks.... Hopin for some one to help me with a part number. PS; I am still lookin for a A/C bracket for a 230 flathead, Thanks Mike Quote
greg g Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Doesn't fat man have a suggestion??? There is a current thread with a nice looking AC bracket, I believe it included in pics by the fellow who cast his own aircleaner uppers. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Here a pics of the bracket sent by stewdecky in the thread entitled "dual carters". To reduce size of the pictures, go to the lower right corner and reduce the percentage from 100 to 50 or so. Quote
YukonJack Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 I think they recommend shocks from a late 70's -80's Chevy pick-up. Quote
greg g Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Wouldn't the shocks from a Pilot house front end work??? Quote
Mustang6147 Posted March 26, 2011 Author Report Posted March 26, 2011 It is hard to believe but no where in the paper work is there any mention of shocks, it says take measurements and go to your local parts store.WTH???? SO i figured someone already did this, and instead of me doin it again and then some one else following and so on , somebody could just post it and be done. Nice A/C brackets, I gotta find that thread, Quote
greg g Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 I woulda thought that FATMAN would at least have some suggestions. Guess they in CYA mode against any liability by tellig you what to use. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Why make a conversion and not tellin' ya what shock to use? Doesn't make much sense. Tom Quote
Mustang6147 Posted March 26, 2011 Author Report Posted March 26, 2011 OK I got the shocks..... I bought Gabriels part #81039 or Munroe 3033.....next issue... THe speedway motors shock bolts dont fit the lower hole. ahahhahahaha this is why I stopped about a year ago, the dumb sh_ _ starts, and I have to take a step back for a while. I guess there is a level of it in any fabrication, but things like uniformed shock eye hole bolts might be next up for some type of uniformity.... I will report back soon to inform all if the shocks worked on my 41 plymouth once they are mounted. Thanks for everyones input, this car will be on the road here pretty soon, I am hopin STEWDECKY gets back to me about the A/C bracket and lower pulley info. HE looks like he did it right, I just need to know if he found a 2 belt crank pulley or runnin 1 belt for everything. Quote
claybill Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 YUP!! recommended was a monroe 3350??? from napa, 80 chev pickup... cant recall the part number exactly.. look up past posts 1-2 years ago bill Quote
Mustang6147 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 SHocks are done. I used the Gabriels 81039. I had to cut the brackets down, but its probably better to much then to little. Quote
