I did a search on the Napa timing chain number, but did not find the number.

Anyone know the timing chain number sold at Napa? I have searched

Napa.com, but no luck there. Last week I thought I had the Napa

number, ordered the chain #9-494, but it does not fit. I am working on

a 1956 Dodge 6 cylinder. thanks, Bob..

NTP 9348 Should work. Its cheaper almost anywhere else. Napas price is $77.21.

A lot of times at NAPA you have to feed it a part number from Cleavite etc. to make it find it.

Rock has the same for 47

Hi Robert,I don't have the NAPA numbers but this info provided by Bill Watson from an earlier posting is correct according to my information...They are both

48 link chains. The earlier one, 1075001 (CN) has a centre guide the later one,1630050 (SK) has single side guide....Ralph

For 1933-54 engines :

Timing chain - 1075001

Camshaft sprocket - 601757

Crankshaft sprocket - 601760

For 1955-58, Canadian 1959 and early U.S. 1959 engines :

Timing chain - 1630050

Camshaft sprocket - 1630052

Crankshaft sprocket - 1630051

For U.S. late 1959 engines :

Timing chain - 1946957

Camshaft sprocket - 1946959

Crankshaft sprocket - 1946958

Original timing chain number was 601765. Number 1075001 appeared sometime in 1946-48. I do not have a 1946-48 parts book, but that number is not in 1942 but it is in 1949, along with much higher numbers.

..Not promoting collectors auto supply but they have this chain listed-

P 55 AFTER ENG #15398, 56-58; D 55 AFTER ENG #3830, 56-58; P, D 59 TO ENG #M-23024390 TIMING CHAIN W/ 6 CYL 1630050 NOS 22 $

...And even more chain info...I got the numbers, etc. from a Hollander interchange manual I have. The only difference I could see between the two chains was the designation,CN vs SK.The number of links, width and pitch were the same.As mentioned in the past, purchasing new sprockets with the chain is probably a good way to go...This appears to be the difference..

I believe the NTP 9348 is 68 links, for a V8.

Another number I found is C 490 at RockAuto, for $44.79,

Auto Zone, $38.99, if that is the corrice one.

Your right.

Sorry for the confusion.

So is it 48 links then?
