Not really sure where to introduce myself so I'll do it here. If it's the wrong place, I apologize. Just found the forum while surfing around so figured I should join up. I hail from the great white north in Calgary Alberta, not sure if there are any other Canucks on here. I currently have a 56 Dodge 1/2 ton Job Rated that I bought from the original owner 8 years ago this month. Now has 83,000 original miles on the flathead 6 and is still running strong. Only modernizing that has been done is a set of chrome wheels and 12 volt conversion. We used it as our "limo" when we got married and it also was used to bring my new baby girl home from the hospital when she was born 4 years ago. First vehicle she ever drove in will also be the first vehicle she ever owns, so that will be a cool history for her. Anyway, I am in the market for another project so you will see me in the "wanted" section for sure.

Welcome Sluggish.

You've found a great source for information and mental support for your new project, as well as your current vehicle. Most activity happens on the Pilot-House.com board (same main page, just select the Pilot-House forum form the main list.) And when you figure out how to post pictures we'd love to see your truck.

Here is a pic, although it was taken about 7 yrs ago. Still looks the same but has smoothie chrome wheels. Gets used probably 3-4 times a week during the landscaping season. It is my "quote" truck, running around doing quotes for jobs. Great conversation starter and helps to build a rapport with potential clients. I have taken many a client for a spin around the block and many a father and son for a drive. I don't miss out on too many jobs when I come in this to do a quote. Nice enough to catch your eye, but not so over the top that they feel I will rip them off to pay for it. It has aid for itself many times over, that's for sure. Plus it's a blast to drive, even though it is a bit sluggish, hence the "sluggish" license plate.
