(ot) but a fact of life in the northeast

I got this load of seasoned firewood about an hour or so ago, have been carrying it to the basement. Just wanted to share with our southern forum members:):)

With it being a colder than normal winter this year, I have almost ran out of wood, so I figured it was time to replenish. I have another load coming once I get this one stacked in the basememt. That one will be towards next winter hopefully. Each load is a full cord or three face cord each.

Heart healthy exercise:):)

Nothing like a toasty warm fire in a wood stove to keep a house and floor warm.

Do you Guys have wood electric furnaces, or just insulated wood stoves in the basement.

Bob that garage has some cool signs on the front, looks like an old mopar man lives there....

Air tight wood stove in the basement along a forced air oil furnace in the basement. The thermostat to that is kept at 68 degrees. No heat upstairs other than what works its way up the open stairway

Yupper, with both an old Plymouth and a couple old Chevies, we have a good number of related signs inside and outside the garage, with a few riskkay (sp)posters and photos in the garage also:):), but then again, aren't man caves suppose to

Still a lot of oil furnaces in your area, used to be lots here too, not many, if any around .

Lots of natural gas furnaces, and electric forced fan, and some combos with wood stoves built into the furnace.....Fred

What's the old saw about wood fires??? they keep you warm 6 times; when you cut it when you split it, when you stack it, when you carry it inside, when you burn it and when you haul the ashes.

We have cut out a lot of the process by using a pellet stove, but it puts the fire in the living room and the dog just loves it.

We had a gas log set installed in our formerly wood burning

fireplace.

Now we don't have to deal with the wood supply & ashes.

We got the non-vented type......therefore you can close the

damper and keep the heat in the room, or open the damper some

amount for less heat.

That would have been real handy a couple winters ago when the

electricity was out for a week. But didn't have them then. Also now

have a generator that can be hooked up to the house system if

need be.
