FL, GA, and SC members: Best Swap Meets for Us Mopar Folk?

Hey gang,

I'm trying to get accustomed to Southern living and I'm having a hard time finding suitable replacement activities. For example, up North we have flea markets where it is mostly old stuff. Here in GA when I ask around the flea markets are mostly those dollar store type booths. I guess people don't wanna stand out in 90 degree heat selling old antiques and stuff. Can't say I blame 'em!

Anyways, life's pretty hectic here and I'm trying to forecast old car swap meets. I looked at Hemmings and Old Ride, but I don't know which ones are mostly for Fords/muscles and which would be comparable to Wisconsin's Jefferson and Iola meets. I know Tim Adams has mentioned a few times of his adventures on part hunting. Wondering if you guys in the surrounding area can clue me in on what ones are worth me re-arranging my calander for. I'm in Savannah, but if the meets good enough I could maybe justify a 4 hour drive since this town seems to be in the middle of nowhere from metropolitan areas.:P

Adam, there is a big swap meet February 4-6 in Moultrie Ga. Over 4000 outside spaces. I have never been but I have heard good reports. Call Jerry Kelley at 888-686-2102. Also a big car show at Myrtle Beach on March 17-19. More show than swap meet but still very good. Most of the time there are about 2500 hundred cars.

John, you are welcome to the Carolina's but leave the snow and ice behind. I am in the upper part of the State and we have had about 4 inches this year and that should do us for a few years. Enjoy Myrtle Beach and stay over until the March event.

I thought I'd left the snow behind last year when we came down but we woke up one morning with about 3 inches on the ground. This year it better be warmer or the wife says we'll be going to Arizona next year. JohnS

Anyone planning on going to the swap meet in Moultrie this weekend? I've made plans to attend and would like to try to meet some other forum members. Tim Adams, are you attending? It looks like its going to be a muddy mess from the rain coming through tomorrow.

Savannah is a cool town...I have some fond memories of putting back a few ice cold PBR's at Pinky Masterson's there...it is the quintessential "dive bar"!

Anyway, it is good to hear some people have at least have had some luck finding stuff for old mopars at swap meets. I walked for about 12 hours and what seemed like 20 miles at Pate the last couple years and could not find a thing...same for the more local meets around this area.
