Merle Coggins Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I know this isn't a Caddy/La Salle forum but I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I know a guy that has a 1940 La Salle Series 52 Sedan. It has ball bearings in the front hubs that he would like to convert to tapered rollers. He has heard that there are kits available but he doesn't do computers/internet to search for them. I did a little searching but so far have come up empty. Does anyone know of any good sources for parts for these early Cadillac/La Salle's? I suppose I could post something on the AACA forum, but I thought I'd try you guys first. Thanks, Merle Quote
james curl Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 You can get conversion bearings for early Chevy Pick Ups and cars from ball to roller bearings. Not knowing the size needed it might be a source or not. Quote
Alshere59 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Not sure this helps but a couple of places to call. The second link has a front brake conversion kit. That should get him the bearings he wants and power disc brakes. Al http://www.coopersvintage.com/catalogs.html#lasallecat http://www.allcads.com/1940cadillacparts Quote
