Guest Bryan Harris Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 This is the almost done product. 1 before and 3 after. My 1st raw fab job. Any insight? Let me have it... Bryan:cool: Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 I had entered your name as the source for a part in building my car and as I read that today I was wondering how you were progressing on the rod...this is looking very good...little hard to see for my old eyes..how far did you recess the firewall? From the pictures I say it appears to be top notch. Looking great..keep us in the loop..at one time you were going forward tilt front..then you said you weren't sure..tilt or standard? Quote
Guest Bryan Harris Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Hi Tim, Thanks. I will post a closer pic. Didn't want to bend the band width. I am still going with the tilt front so far. I have the firewall back 3.5" at the bottom. Top is still at the drip rail where the orig was. I only wanted it back enough for the motor to be comfy & not tight. Need to make a small recess in the center for the dist yet. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 That is going to be a clean firewall..I have had to run AC and HTR hoses through the right and 50 wire block through the left..and still got the speedo and throttle to address. Did you see the the yellow coupe in thread "check out new members ride" with the very close fitting bumper..that close fit would be ideal on a tilter..that is if you are fitting a bumper...if lowering the chassis, removing the gravel pan will probably be a must with a tilt... Frank Blackstone Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 I have done a little fabrication of larger pieces by bending and relieving . yours looks like all but wields from what I can see in the oics. I saw in a mag recently that small area of depression were done by heating with a torch ( looked yellow flame and low temp) then hammering with a body hammer. It's fun to beat the panels. Frank Quote
