horn installment

I recently bought a new steering wheel and horn ring for my '48 P-15.

Removing the old steering wheel and installing the new one was simple, BUT......I cannot (even after several tries) figure out how to attach the horn to the horn ring assembly so that it honks only when pressed.

It has a large spring that goes behind the "t" shaped metal retainer that attaches to the steering wheel itself and the horn wire comes up the middle........ but where (and how) does that wire attach to the horn ring ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hey Guys :

Thanks for your input on my horn ring installation project............the picture was really helpful and I realize now that I am missing the contact and retainer that go at the end of the horn wire................pretty sure I can devise something that'll work.

Does that wire/contact actually go up against the back of the horn button ?

Thanks again for your help.

I'm missing just about everything on mine, except for the horn ring :( Anyone know where I can buy a kit that would have the whole assembly in it?

Ah the beauty of owning a mopar. For most things there's no such thing as a kit. The only place I know of to get the parts you are missing is a parts car or one of the NOS parts places might have them.
