belhousing lugs / locating pins

Yes, they need to be in there. used to keep the centerline accurate between the engine and transmission. Same reason the trans input brg retainer fits snugly into the bellhousing. I was going to suggest making some from bolts but now don't need to.

dont worry folk, have found a boltsize close to it and am lock tite that in..

...very poor choice...not even close to proper od.

Go to any decent fastener supplier and buy the correct dowels....Vintage Power Wagons probably has them.

Even old transmissions require correct alignment.

The bolt /shank was les then .03 mil out form the original correct measurment, and I think they are put in there to keep the movement between the belhousing and the block to a minimum. My alternatives fitted very snug as in had to hammer them into place..:D
