dumptruckguy Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Well the B3 saga continues ! As near as we can determine is the needle is sticking and wont let the float bowl fill up with gas! Has anyone ever had this problem ???? Quote
41/53dodges Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 when it does that, BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF IT WITH A SOFT MALLET! or something to try to jar it loose. Quote
greg g Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Is your fuel pump providing proper operation pressure??? 4 to7 psi. Of not the needle won't move. Have you removed it and cleaned it? Just a small spot of goo might make it hang up. Quote
dumptruckguy Posted October 21, 2010 Author Report Posted October 21, 2010 We have tapped it with a crescent wrench it worked once. I didnt have time to work on it today hopefully tomorrow. Quote
dumptruckguy Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 Well we dropped the tank on it. Nothing unusual in it..... except.... a 1" by 3" piece of metal bent on one end. We are not sure if that was a problem or not but at least we eliminated tank. We also noticed when we shut it off in the sediment bowl by the carb some red foreign material floating down we are not sure if it was out of the tank or if the copper gas line from fuel pump to sediment bowl on carb was deterioating we already changed to a rubber line.Im going to work on it tomorrow I will update after that. dumptruckguy Posted November 2, 2010 Author Report Posted November 2, 2010 Knock on wood I think we have it fixed !!!!!!!!!!!! Drove the truck 24 mi today without it quiting !!!!!!!! Not sure of the exact problem but the last 2 things we did was to drop the tank and ran it on a gas can and took the sediment bowl off and put an inline gas filter in it. Tailgate spread about 125 ton of gravel today with it !!!!!!!!! Quote
