richards47deluxe Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Soooo many choices. Can someone tell me what they did for their car. I need the 4 doors and trunk lid weatherstripping for my 1947 Plymouth 4 Door sedan. I know there are many sites out there and they list different shapes and compositions. If you would be so kind to let me know what you ordered, installed and if it worked for you. thanks, Richard:) Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 on my appaliction for the older Plymouth..I found Clesters to have the better fit...Steele and Restorations specialites rubber is a bit larger in size and maybe even the durometer a bit higher..all appear the same in first look-see but close inspection will show a slight difference...it makes the doors and trunk panel stand away from the car more than the same item froms Clesters...just my personal observation..on my 54 Plymouth I used Clesters rubber I had purchased for the 52 Club Coupe after finding the other brands lacking..the trunk rubber fit into the channel and locks without any glues..happy with this product...The door seals were straight from Restoration Specialties and bought in a 50" roll as I have several applications for this product..I am thinking that I used roughly 14 foot per door on a 2 door sedan..that left me a biit to trim to fit and I did not stretch the rubber, truth is I installed it a bit "bunched" hopefully to protect against shrinkage..
