I was expecting the typical Jam Handy Production's use of a spinning Chevy hub cap and the bit about "Chevrolet Leader News". I noticed that at the end the trucks that "are in the service now" have "CCC" on them. Since the military ran the Civilian Conservation Corp, I'd guess that was the tie in. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 TodFitch, I can't see if they are Chevrolet trucks and if they are 6x6,but I noticed that underneath I can see a "SPLIT" rear differential axle type, that was used originally in Ford trucks.GMC 6x6 truck in the WWII had the two types(SPLIT-earlier AND BANJO-late). TodFitch Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I thought it was from a Chevrolet publicity film, and I found it, second to the last segment in this film: http://www.archive.org/details/Chevrole1935_3 If you are interested in other vintage Chevrolet promotional videos, you can search on archive.org for "Chevrolet Leader News" under the "moving pictures" category. Sure would be nice if all the people who upload copies of old films to YouTube noted where they stole them from. Quote
