Beatles65 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Well, after negotiating with my uncle we were able to come to a price and I am the proud new owner of the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe. I know that it will take a lot of time and money to get it back on the road but it is worth it to save another old car. I cannot wait to go and pick it up. I feel that half the adventure in buying an old car is going to get it. I also feel that it will be a great addition to the collection and I cannot wait to get the car back on the road and also take it to shows. I know all you fine people on this site are full of knowledge and I plan to use this forum as a resource in getting the car road worthy again. Thanks for all the help and information as it was greatly appreciated. From Nebraska, Andrew. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Congratulations Andrew. Always good to have another P15 owner in the group. Quote
Eneto-55 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 I'm curious, Andrew, where the car was in Nebraska (now that you have closed the deal). I lived for a short time in Mead (west of Omaha), and got my 49 first series Plymouth (parts car) in Wahoo. Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Andrew, good luck with your new p15 and welcome to the best old car forum on the internet:) Bob Quote
49 Dodge Dude Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 It's a great feeling, isn't it? I just picked up a 1949 Dodge Coronet that needs a lot of work, too. I'm currently in the process of preparing the surface so I can give it a new paint job. It still needs a new fuel tank sender, headliner, door panels redone, new wiring, the engine smokes, etc etc. It's all worth it, though. These cars are pieces of American history, and it is truly exciting to be a small part of preserving it. Quote
pflaming Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Congradulations. Keep that red color and drive it to Lincoln when the Huskers play Texas! You may get your money back real quick, especially if Texas should get lucky again and win!!!!! Quote
Beatles65 Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 Eneto-55 The car is located on an acreage outside of Tecumseh Nerbraska. That is about an hour drive from where I live in Denton Nebraska. Thats funny that you mention Mead Nebraska because I also just Bought a 1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door sedan from a guy out that way. All the old cars are in the small towns! And Texas will not get so lucky as they did last year. Coach Pelini will not stand for another loss to them. One thing about working the Husker Football Games is that I get to see all the games for free and I am really looking forward to that one. Quote
fedoragent Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Congrats! What a great ending to a wonderful story. Glad you have the car! FG. Quote
