Charlie Olson Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Hi, getting ready to drive PLYWOOD to CA, from AZ, to attend the 43rd Annual WAVECREST Woodie Meet and I want to replace the old rusty radiator cap. Where can I buy a replacement and what pressure pounds do I need, 4 or 7 pounds; or none? Thanks, Charlie, California or Rust!!!! Quote
greg g Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 likely none. where is the over flow outlet??? If it is below the where the cap seals it really doesn't matter as no pressure can build. Try Tractor Supply or Farm and Fleet or what ever that type establishment in your area. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Charlie.......I got one of these non-pressure ones from NAPA...about $3 or $4 as I recall. They didn't have it in stock, but got it from the warehouse in a day or so. The part number is --- Quote
Charlie Olson Posted September 10, 2010 Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 The over-flow outlet is at the very top of the radiator, not connected to the radiator cap water inlet; so, this must be a no pressure system. I did note that I have a nice six blade flex fan, which helps keep PLYWOOD cool. I'll try a few farm equipment stores, near here, thanks. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted September 10, 2010 Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks Bob, I'll go to NAPA in the AM. Really appreciate the help, Guys. Quote
