At Borders last night and saw an article of a coil rear suspension kit for old cars. Web site is www.totalcostinvolved.com. Their products were Ford/Chevy directed but seems to me the style of the frame would be the critical element. Question: has anyone had any experience with this company or this idea?

I put coils in my 48 its really just brackets for the springs then you need linkages 4 link or what ever but its a lot easier to install a whole rear end in from something like a camero mine is an 89 camero rear,I just got done tearing it all out and putting air springs in inplace of the regular springs.the job isnt to hard if you can read a tape and weld..but its a waste to ruin a stock rearend plus if you want an upgrade a whole newer style rear is the way to go its half the work...

I'm planning on using a welderseries triangulated four link w/coilovers on the rear of mine. You have to do some welding with their kits but you would need to anyway with whatever kit you went with (mounting brackets ). I used their kit on the front for a M II style and was well pleased with it.

TCI is a big company, well represented/advertised in the hotrod world. Decent company, likes to sell parts with a lot of shine. Other places also sell good quality for less.

maybe you should drive it over to Rubys, Redondo Beach on a Friday for a Trophy. Other than Phil (an ex Indy 500 driver) who now has about 5 Dodge trucks, there are a lot of very cool hot rod people from way back. It's amazing when they start talking history and technical stuff what they know.

Sure your truck would get a lot of attention.
