Herr Otto Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I am in the infancy stages of wiring up my truck and could use some help with the Allstate signal switch that is in the truck. The switch has 7 wires orange, red, green, yellow, lt. blue and two blacks. I have looked at Greybeard's excellent write up on wiring but these colors do not match. Any help would be appreciated as to how/where these wires connect to. Thank you, Otto Quote
desoto1939 Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Herr, I have attached a wiring diagram from a signal stat turning signal. This might help. I think most unit follow the similar wiring sequence. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
William Davey Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 I agree with Rich's opinion that most signal light systems use the same color code. I recently rewired my 55 C-3-B8 which has a "Grote" signal light switch and I just compared my wiring to the schematic for the 900, 901, 910 diagram provided by Rich. All wires are colored the same on my Grote unit. On my truck: White = ground; Yellow = Flasher "L" terminal; Green = Left Front; Red = Right Front; Black = Right Rear; Blue = Flasher "P" terminal; Gray = Left Rear; Gray with Black stripe = from Brake Switch. My Flasher has a 3rd terminal "X" which is a fused always hot lead so the 4-way flashers always have power. Hope this helps. Quote
Dave72dt Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 I found this on another site that may help you determine where your wires for the switch go. read down far enough and it helps you set up a grid that with some testing on your part should get you started. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/turn_signal.htm Quote
Herr Otto Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Went to a swap meet today and bought a new Everlasting turn signal switch (conmutador) which came with directions an electronic flasher and pigtail. I should be able to figure this one out.(I Hope) Thanks for the replies, Otto Quote
