faucet47custom Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 When I was taking out the interior of my '47 D24 I noticed the switch on the B pillar on the drivers side, I figured it just wet to the dome light but wanted to verify that. I haven't messed with the wiring so I haven't looked to see what it goes to. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 could be the switch when the door open it turns the lights on. Quote
faucet47custom Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) I just re-read my post and realized that the description isn't very clear. This is a small switch on the interior side of the B-pillar between the front and rear door that lines up with the middle of the window openings on the doors. Michael, I can't remember if I had seen a plunger style switch in the jamb that is similar to what you see on most vehicles to activate the light when the door opens like you are talking about, but this is a small on off switch in the pillar that you would be able to switch on and off while inside the vehicle. claybill Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 that switch was an option..it operates the peripheral semi-modulator for the electrical conductors for the rear transitional lights, keeping them operational in all weather, the receiver is hidden behind the glove box door...... or it might be the dome light switch. have fun! bill Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I can see claybill has been reading too many dictionaries lately...... It is a dome light switch. If'n you want to turn on the dome light while the doors are closed, assuming you have the plunger switches on the door frame, you can do so. Or you could turn it on if you didn't have the plunger switches. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Right. And if you wanted to go to the trouble, you could add a second door jamb switch for the driver's side. My car, being a ragtop, has no dome light. However, I hung a tail light bulb socket with bulb up under the passenger side of the dash, and operate it with a toggle switch attached to my emergecy brake cable. Some of the old Mopars had an under dash courtesy light. Quote
