Still seeking headlight info-new info -some OT

I finnally got the ladder out of the mud, found a piece of paper, pen and tape measure and climbed up to find out IF my memory was any good.

I thought I had a pair of eyebrow headlights,,,now I can only find one so I guess I failed the test AGAIN!! Anyway this had written on it Macbeth-Evans Glass company, Macbeth Pittsburg and a # 4910 and 9 1/4" stamped on edge of glass. It also had Pat. Dec. 8 14. The glass measures the 9 1/4" across sure enough. the top part is green glass and sticks out 1 1/2" from the flat part of the white glass and is bow shaped like an open eyeball. it is green for about 2 1/4" of that top. The glass is all one piece and it is cast outward for the green part. In other words the back of the glass is hollow out under the green top part, then comes back to the white part and is pretty straight down, which has a diffuser pattern on it.

Now here is the strange part. I have the whole headlight,,,I thought I may have just the lense. The headlight housing is bell shaped and has a angle iron bracket on it for mounting,,,and then an eyelet up on top part for a (brace???)???

I also found I had two other complete headlights,I first thought a matched pair,,but better look in poor light was not the case. One said Twilight Chevrolet on the bottom, still in whole assembly but was painted bright tractor red at one time. it measures 8 1/2" from front bump to front bump.(outside holder part extra,,estimated to be 9" overall. This housing is NOT bell shaped but teardrop shaped of sorts. It has a socket on it either to hold a wire socket OR a bulb outside.

last one was a 6 7/8" clear straight glass and the metal part had two seperate wires to connect to juice. Had a round bracket that clamped on,,, to like a round 1/2" pipe.

ANY info or possible applications of these headlights is appreciated.

I also saw a box of colored glass I salvaged from old house windows once upon a day. I have a window, complete, measuring 26" by 41" w/colored glass (4 X 5 1/4") around the outside of the window and regular clear gass on the inside of the colored. I supposed it could have been a frosted decorator glass in there one time.. IF anybody has a use for said window in a wood sash,,,let me know, its gonna go 'someplace' soon. I was always going to make a coffee table of it and fill in the center with more colored glass from my collection (and build lights into it so it would shine thru the glass)of same from same ole house,,,it WAS a mansion. Like a darn fool got talked into selling the 'leaded' glass windows out of same.

I also have the front door from this mansion. Always wanted to find a house to put it on,,,never did so its for sale too. Its 9' tall and 3" thick and has colored glass around the center window of it also. My guess is either 36 or 40" wide and comes with its very own screen door with it,sorta ornate wood. A totally cool old door,,,if anybody has use of it. came out of a three story big house with a turret on top level. I wished I could have moved the house and saved it but that was out of the question, almost 40 years ago. For one thing,,,waaaaay to heavy to move. and too tall. It was located ON a lot fronting the highway in West Point Nebr. and was where a adjoining church wanted a 'parking lot',,,we just obliged there wishes.

Thanks for listening--don--

Twilight was a OEM that sold lighting equipment to Detroit. The 1933 Plymouth PD is fitted with Twilight headlamps. I believe the 1933 Chevrolet also used Twilight. My cross references show that the Twilight lens part number 915383 was for the Chevrolet but would fit in the Plymouth (same diameter) even though the Twilight part number for the Plymouth was 915283. I am at work and my spare lenses are at home, so I can't measure things at the moment but 9" overall sounds about right for a 1933 Plymouth and/or Chevy headlight assembly.

As I recall, the only real difference between those two lenses was that the Chevy also had "Guide" written on the lens.

The 915283 lens was also used on some GM trucks up to 1940 and, I think, 1934 International Harvester.

Additional info: The Plymouth headlight assembly has what looks like a lamp socket on the bottom. This is where the wiring harness plugs into the unit and it has three contacts rather than the one or two you would expect for a lamp (high beam, low beam and parking lamp). I haven't seen the Chevy one removed from a car, but if it came from Twilight I would not be surprised if it were the same. The mounting is different between the Plymouth and Chevy but I don't recall the differences off the top of my head.
