Barry Maxwell Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 I found one of these in the box of parts that came with the B3C that I bought. I found another one today when I was removing the boards from the bed. It was above one of the frame rails. It measures 3-1/2"x1-3/16"x3/16" and has 3/4 stamped on it. Can anyone identify it? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Looks like a shim for adjusting the height of body panels or whatever. Merle Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 It'a shim for 1946-52 old MoPar cars. It fits between the lower control arm pivot and frame and corrects for frame to control arm discreptancies either in manufacturing or after an accident. Have found them in several 1946-52 Chryslers and a few other models. Bob Quote
Barry Maxwell Posted July 20, 2010 Author Report Posted July 20, 2010 Wow!! Very interesting. The original owner of the truck operated a body shop and used the truck as a wrecker. He modified the bed to accomodate the lift unit. He must have used these shims for some reason during the modification. If anyone knows of someone that wants/needs these two shims, they are free for the taking. I certainly have no use for them. Thank you for the information. Quote
