PatrickG Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Saw your car at the strangers show yesterday, as well as a good looking '50 Plymouth I've never seen before right behind it. Alas I may have seen you too, but unfortunately I have no idea what you look like! Pretty fun show, lots of nice looking cars, and of course I forgot the camera. Nice looking park too, never been there before.. Here's a thread on the hamb with photos if anyone's interested: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492029 Quote

jd52cranbrook Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Hey Patrick, I'm sorry we didn't meet. We were under a shade tree close by barbecuing. That 50 you saw is a friend's of mine, who also has a 48 2 door Plymouth close to being road worthy. I really like that show alot. We got there a 9 am and were one of the last allowed in before being too crowded. Turns out we got one of the better locations to eat and rest under the shade. Pretty impressive cars for sure. Especially when you consider "Hot San Jose Nights" was going on this past weekend too, but those were mostly trailer queens......nuff said. The park really is nice with all its history of San Jose right in it. It's a good place to visit without anything going on. Hopefully we will meet up another time. Thanks for posting the links to the pics. The Strangers Car Club put on a really good event. Edited July 12, 2010 by jd52cranbrook Quote

And maybe even have a road worthy old plymouth by then Patrick PS The woodward dream cruise is another good show. Flew out for it a few years ago, definitely jealous of you having been able to drive to it, maybe someday... Quote

Flew out for it a few years ago, definitely jealous of you having been able to drive to it, maybe someday... I really think that is one that should not be missed if possible. To me, the fun times included the week leading up to that weekend. You could actually cruise the blvd without much trouble, with still plenty of cars doing the same thing. On Sat your lucky to make one pass in 4 hours it is so crowded. I hear there are some good ones all over, I have never made it to any down to Los Angeles where I hear they are good too. But I doubt they can match the numbers Woodward puts up. When I go there, four times now, it's like I am in 1964 on East 14th Street in Hayward, San Leandro and Oakland all over again. Quote
