tenn.jerry Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 im back at it again. i took a couple of days off to play with my piolithouse. i got a new wiring harness from performance parts and spent the biggest part of yesterday wiring it up.now ive gotten to my brakes and i dont have the clip that goes on the brake switch. iwas wondering if i could solder leads rite on the terminals and use heat shrink. has anyone ever done this or do i need the clip. nobody around here seems to have one. thanks in advance for any advice i can get. Bob_Koch Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I would solder as you suggest. The switch should be able to handle the heat from the solder. Quote
NiftyFifty Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I would solder as you suggest. The switch should be able to handle the heat from the solder. Those connectors shouldn't be hard to find, any auto parts store would have the single female type....there are a few sizes, but I think blue is the correct if their coded by colour... Quote
MBF Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I'm with 4mula-dlx. The blue crimp on single female connectors are readily available and work just fine (that's what I used). If you ever have to replace the switch down the road it'll be a lot easier. Mike Quote
Young Ed Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Right they should be either male or female bullet connectors. The blue end only refers to the wire size. Which for brake light wiring is probably appropriate. However there are also multiple sizes of the bullet piece so you'll have to match that up too. Quote
