1940plymouth Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Dad came over this morning, we went for a ride in the Plymouth then stopped for breakfast. Life is good, although Cooper had to stay home, as I didn't want to leave him in the car while we had breakfast. Dad is in pretty good shape for being almost 84 years old. We had a good ride, meal and visit, ah, life is good:) Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I'm sure it always brings back memories of when he was a young guy driving one of those. Tom Quote
1940plymouth Posted June 22, 2010 Author Report Posted June 22, 2010 Just after the war, he had a '41 Dodge, he said that it was worn out when he bought it, but he and my Mother still had it when I was born in 1948 Quote
PatS.... Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Great to be able to spend some good times with your dad. I was able to also spend some good times with my dad. He's been gone for some time now but I'm SO glad we took the time to do things together. So many folks put that off until it's too late. Keep the pictures coming and keep making the time to get together with your dad to do the outings to take the pictures!!! Quote
1940plymouth Posted June 23, 2010 Author Report Posted June 23, 2010 That is a Kero pump by the bank, then the salon is next to the bank with the store to the right of the salon. They have a deli that makes good sandwiches and a great sausage, egg and cheese on a hard roll. That is what Dad and I had. The man that owns the lumberyard here in Neversink built the small strip mall about six or seven years ago, up until then, no bank, no gas and no groceries here in Neversink, had to go to Liberty, ten miles west, or to Ellenville, approx 20 miles east. Cooper stayed home as I didn't want to leave him in the car while we had our breakfast sandwich, but you can bet your bottom dollar that he was with me earlier in the morning for a ride when we drove down to the fairgrounds in Grahamsville to walk our two laps around the perimiter road which makes a mile Quote
