Aaron Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 Finished the floor of my box today. Since I am not doing a ground up restoration at this point, I just used a 4x8 3/4" plywood for the wood and salvaged all my strips to re-use. I like the way it turned out. Once I strip this truck down and put a nice paint job on it, then I will maybe redo the floor to how it was original... Aaron Quote
pflaming Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 I did the same thing only I painted mine black. With the nice 'rusty' brown patina in that bed, I really like what you did. If you wet sand that bed with 800 grit you may be surprised how much color you will find. Great work, looks great! Quote
ggdad1951 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) you did a WAY better job than I saw some do at the Back to the 50's show here in Minneapolis. You found a good piece of ply w/o any "footballs" in it. Others I saw this last week had them all over the beds. Edited June 22, 2010 by ggdad1951 wording Quote
Aaron Posted June 22, 2010 Author Report Posted June 22, 2010 Thanks, surprisingly enough I grabbed the top piece and it was perfect. Usually I would have to dig through the pile and the one I want is at the bottom! I sealed both sides with a good deck sealer and will probably seal it one more time just for good measure.... Quote
