:Dhas this ever happened to anybody except me? as I was installing the keepers on the valves on my P20 218 today, one accidently sliped off and I losted it down one of the oil return holes. you gessed it.. I never had the holes plugged. I bout s....t my pants. lucky for me I didn't have the oil pan on yet, it went thru and fell on the floor. lesson learned, allways cover the oil return holes.

Been there, done that. There's at least one keeper in my oil pan now, and it will stay there until I have some reason to pull the pan off again.

When changing out the fluid in my fluid drive I always make sure that I have a rag stuffed in the access hole just in case I should drop the oil plug down inside the void area.

I guess I learned allot about what we called in the shipyard FME Foreign Material Exclusion from various system we would work on. Especially when working on HYD systems! Boy you never wanted get get any debris or junk in those systems.
