Young Ed Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 That one trophy looks like its made of really cheap paper and just hand printed. When you get tired of that one I'll take it off your hands. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Too funny, that $50 is my secret mad money that I keep in my wallet for unexpected surprises. I just couldn't resist using it for a photo scale prop. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 So, Charlie, where did you get that model? Did you build it yourself? Quote
Charlie Olson Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 I bought the resin model on ebay, they show up every once in a great awhile. I had a fellow member of the National Woodie Club, who specializes in creating matching Woodie models from photos, make this resin model into a one-of-a-kind miniature duplication of PLYWOOD. I searched on ebay for seven months to find the resin kit. The model, sitting up on the rear package tray gets a lot of comments at car shows. The judges at the car show, where I won the Orange/Black Piston Rod/Valves, first in class trophy said the little model showed them how much I enjoyed my car. Care has to be taken to avoid heated conditions to prevent distorting the model; so I don't have it out on warm to hot days. The model also has an engine, muffler, exhaust pipe and gas tank. The wood components are real wood on the PLYWOOD mini. Quote
1942cowdodge Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Cool Charlie and like your old car I love mine also! I'm almost ready to take the old Dodge out with my 57 trailer in toe! Should be interesting at car shows as I really like to show of my Dodge not as a fully restored car but a car that was used by a family and has that look. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/1942dodge/Grandma1958%20Aljo/DSC03320.jpg Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 I got the convertible model on ebay, probably from the same seller. You don't find them many places. Not quite as unique as yours, though. Does match my car. (Now, I need to find it some skirts.) Quote
Charlie Olson Posted June 11, 2010 Author Report Posted June 11, 2010 I really like that trailer!! Gives a great idea/dream. When I win the lottery, I am going to have a large barn/garage, to store some old cars, for myself and others. I think it would be very cool to have a refurbished/restored older camper trailer inside the big old building and use it for an office. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted June 11, 2010 Author Report Posted June 11, 2010 Hey Bob, I really like your convertible resin model. I get a lot of nice comments about PLYWOOD's mini me. My less than skilled camera work didn't do the little justice, but you all got the idea. Quote
