Plymouthy Adams Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 While on the road this past Memorial day weekend I saw but one item of interest and that was a north bound vehicle. It was a motorcycle totally disguised as a Roman chariot..yes this puppy had the horse body front end, chariot riding compartment, rider appeared to be standing complete with Roman soldier attire and had his hand to the till the appearance of reins going forward to the horse was a touch of icing for sure. This has to be the most unique item I have seen in some time. I had a camera but alas no time to get a shot...that guy was booking.. Quote
Edward Roberts Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 This sounds suspiciously like the 2nd most interesting thing on your trip... right behind the visit to the head shop But all hail youtube, could this be it? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 I surely wished to have been able to get a pic...I have since my return googled this described vehicle every way I could phase it for an image and notta/nothing comes up..either this is a one-of or his idea has not been mass manipulated yet...the Roman helmet with the top dressing..you just would not believe..I tell ya that boy got some some looks I am sure.. Edward Roberts Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Okay, now I'm off on a quest to discover this motorcycle chariot underground society. My boss thanks you! I found this website about a fella in Florida, Michael James, who apparently builds these things. http://motorcyclechariotracing.wordpress.com/ Does his stuff look like what you saw? From the videos I've seen this morning I don't think I'd volunteer to ride one of these things. I love to ride but this looks closer to balancing a ladder on ice than riding a motorcycle. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 not really...where is the horse that covers the motorcycle..from the other side of the interstate I thought I was maybe in a Charlton Heston film..am not saying he did not do a further adaptation of the chariot but his unit looked to be quite large..actual chariot size , the one in the link you sent seems a bit small.. Edward Roberts Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Okay, lunch is over and this search has led me to see something that I will have to work hard at removing from my retinae: http://eternallycool.net/2009/04/games-in-honor-of-romes-2762nd-birthday/ Tim, good luck on your search and if you find the bike please post something about it, photo if possible. Flatie46 Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Being a motorcyclist myself, I'm interested in the story. Sounds like somthing that'd make the news. Then there's the head shop theory, hmmm. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 5, 2010 Author Report Posted June 5, 2010 it would be nice to see a feature article but I have done all the internet looking I intend to do..it was unique for sure Quote
Olddaddy Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Tim, flashbacks are hell, but you're lucky, I can't begin to describe the stuff I see in mine...... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 7, 2010 Author Report Posted June 7, 2010 Guess it was mass hallucinations as there are two others who saw the same thing..wonder what I ad for lunch today that would cause me to see this on the way home from Charleston this afternoon...did not get to see Brad Lustig as he was on a retreival errand of his own..he will surely post later Quote
