Helping my friend in Fla with his 53 P23 hardtop. Needed brake shoes and none were readily available locally so he called Roberts Motor Parts. Ordered the front shoes, and since Gary listed that little fuel pump flex line in the catalog, ordered that too. Paid for 2 day shipping, not cheap of course. Today the shoes came right on time. But no fuel line and nothing about it on the invoice. My friend phoned him, Gary said he didn't recall anything about the order but acted like he kind of doubted that the line had been discussed. This was an order placed only 2 days ago. My friend asked if Gary might ship the line for no additional shipping since it was missed on the order (I heard him order it). Gary said no, maybe he would need some parts in the future and maybe he could order the fuel line next time. What is with this guy? He's gotta be on drugs or was dropped on his head or ????

Sounds like a company that I don't need to do business with. Also, sounds like they are insensitive to customers that suffer, due to errors on their (Robert's) behalf.

I order one of those flexible fuel lines from Bernbaum a few days ago and had it in 2 or 3 days regular USPS mail to Colorado. I think it was $19.50 for the fuel line. It was part of a larger order. Shipping was something like $7.00 or $8.00 for the entire package of small parts. The flexible line looks like the correct part (haven't put it on yet) and in new high quality condition. I'm going to look for some brass fittings and some regular fuel line for the next one or as a backup.

Has anyone ever done business with Len Dawson? He seems to have been around a long time but I've never heard of anyone dealing with him.

Pat,

It has been a number of years but I have purchased parts from Len Dawson. Everything went smoothly and I had no complaints.

I've also purchased something from Len Dawson along the line but no idea what or when, just have the box. I'm still trying to remember who I purchased a restored steering wheel from yrs back. Turns out it has a crack where it mounts as well as the "threads" or whatever they are called are almost uselessly smoothed out from wear but thats my fault for not noticing it from day one. Live and learn.

I actually purchased quite a few parts from Len Dawson when restoring my '38 Chrysler. I got some quite hard to find items from him like the convex glass lenses (see picture) for my instrument gauges and speedometer, NOS horn ring, lots of tranny parts, etc. Service was good and parts arrived quickly. I did find his catalogue expensive and have not got an updated one because of that. I would also recommend Rovon Auto Parts in Coquitlam BC as he has a very extensive supply of parts. Both good outfits to deal with.
