PatS.... Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 My parts arrived today from Norm at Mid-Canada Suspension. Great service and a decent price. Ordered on Friday, here today (Wednesday) Thanks Norm!!! The upper control arm included a nice instruction sheet I wish I had before I took the thing apart. This sheet calls for some measurements to be taken prior to taking things apart, which of course I did not take. There should be some specs in the manual..I hope. These instructions also do not call for a special tool, which I like. So, for those who may be interested, I will post the sheet. I did scan it to PDF but it is too big to upload and I have no clue how to resize it. If you'd like a PDF emailed it is 2.50MB and there are 2 pages. Just ask and it's yours. Here is the sheet in JPG: Side Two: Yes it is white on black and I would like to reverse it, but I don't think I have the right program. Quote
dvanecek Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 thanks for posting this. Any chance you would have the lower contol arm instructions with measurements. Front I have read on this forum as long as things are centered the upper/lower control arms should line up fine. I just want to make sure I don't miss something and end up redoing the front end again. Quote
dvanecek Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 thanks for the reply. Any chance of having the sheets for lower control arm bushing install? Heck I really need the sheets for the entire front rebuild. thnx in advance. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Hey Dave..how are things in Atlanta...you about to get the big butt on the road? Tim Quote
PatS.... Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 The set of instructions posted apply to both upper and lower contol arms. The same procedures are followed for both. Quote

PatS.... Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 The instructions show "dimension Z" meaning that they should be centered to within 1/32 of each other so later wheel alignment is possible. The homemade tool helped alot in that area because once the bushing bar was centered, I could tighten up the bolts that go through 2 of the bushing pin bolt holes, and it would stay centered while tightening/torquing the big bushing "nuts". So, there is no specific measurement as long as the bar is centered. Quote

I really appreciate the help here. i'm flying a bit blind and really don't want to redo this again. One last question. How tough should it be to put these bolts bushing. They are VERY hard to put in. Would it be normal to need an impact wrench? Quote
PatS.... Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 I didn't use one because it was one place where I wanted the "feel" of it. By hand, if somethings not quite right you'll likely notice it, but if you put the power to it you might screw it up. Besides, I need the extra workout But if you're comfortable using the air, by all means go for it. Quote

They are binding a bit. I may need to pinch them a bit to get them unbound. Quote
