RobertKB
We actually had quite a bit of coverage up here in Canada. Also saw it quite a bit on CNN. Sure is a mess and good luck get everything cleared up. I hope the Tennessee members on the forum who live close by are OK. If not, all the best with the clean-up effort. randroid
wayfarerstranger, A few years ago the were a series of blizzards in this area that crippled Eastern Colorado for well over a week, and a very poignant letter was written to the boys in Denver that had the same 'in your face' attitude about it as did the video you forwarded to us. It discussed how 'Mom & Pop' diners stayed open 24\7 to house and feed stranded motorists with no money exchanged, how teams of local ranchers on snowmobiles prowled the closed roads in sub-zero weather and saved countless lives, how the true fiber of humanity was exposed for what it can be. Jesse Jackson didn't call, but all he could have done was to try to inspire where there inspiration was already out in full force, and although I like the Rev. Jackson I'm glad he stayed out of the way. I still have a copy of that letter and if YouTube allowed copying I'd make a copy of that video, too. Looks as though the Three States of Tennessee have shown what they're made of. No, I was ignorant of the magnitude of the devastation just as I was ignorant of the mettle of people residing there (here in the West Nashville is portrayed as a transient town populated by thousands of itinerant musicians) but I think I've learned a few things this morning that set me straight. Thanks for education, and especially thanks for the link. -Randy
BobT-47P15
Boy == that flooded Kroger store on Harding is not far from our condo. There was flooding all around, but far as we know, our complex was just high enough to stay out of the water.
Greenbomb
It looks all too familiar. I think we've had 3 "Hundred year floods" in the last twenty. Poor ol' Centralia and vicinity has been washed out too many times. Last time about 3 years ago was devastating. They're still repairing stuff. Praise God, we stayed high and dry. It's pretty much Hell now, but they'll come through it in Tennessee.
james curl
After watching the u tube presentation, I dropped down to the comments section and was amazed by all of the mean spirited comments that I saw. That is the trouble with an open architecture type of unmonitored forum, you bring out all of the creeps that live in the shadow world and have no friends and it makes them feel big to put other people down.
