Hey all, it was my pleasure ti have Pat S from Calgary Alberta drop in for a visit today.

I had the 47 ready to go, and Pat and I went for a country ride, the wather has been cool and wet., so just had a quick spin of about 10 miles, both gravel road and highway.

Pat dropped off a 48 Chrysler bench seat, and a 50 Desoto air breather, which is for my conversion to a disposable filter.

It was real great to visit with a P15 D24 member, I think Pat enjoyed the ride in the 47, he assured me the ride was "as per 47 normal", and he even thought my paint job wasn't too bad. We had a coffee in the house, as it was only about 40 or so outside.

Pat was able to pick-up his new/old tire changer, which he was looking forward to.

Pat also delivered a front bench seat from a 48 Chrysler limo, this seat fame is in unbelievable shape, the back cord and trim piece is really cool, in mock wood grain. This seat was a gift from Robert KB, thanx a lot Robert.

We had a chance to talk about the group, and old Mopars, I really enjoyed the visit, hopefully when Pat comes back out here, will meet up and go for a longer ride, and see some of the sites......

Here are a few pics of Pat at the Rockwood Estate

Glad you to got to meet up with Pat and go for a ride in the '47. Hopefully you can make some use of some of the parts from the seat and ebay the rest. I was just glad to get rid of it. Pat is a great guy as I had the pleasure of meeting him last week in Claresholm to deliver the seat to him. Hopefully we can meet one day, Fred.

Yes lookin forward to the next visit, it will hopefully be Aero 3113, when he comes to Winnipeg in early June for his conference.

Then hopefully, but at the moment it is up in the air, the Back to the 50s, and to hook-up with Young Ed, if not this time, next time for sure.

Next year, going to be in Orlando Fla, maybe go see Old Daddy's disc brake factory......

Thanks for the kind words Fred! I really enjoyed my visit today! You're right about me enjoying that ride. It was like a time machine for me.

Fred's car is in really great shape...he's done some great work. He should be quite proud of the results for sure.

Thanks again for getting my tire machine for me. I'm looking forward to refurbishing t and using it.

I'll hopefuly be back out in late June for a longer, warmer visit.

The drive was not bad, but 1400 km in one day is a bit much. Then to try to break into the cabin in the dark, rain and cold. Then when we turned the water on there were leaks galore so no water til Wednesday. But all is good now.

Bracing for the return drive but likely going to take the scenic route via Saskatoon, Spruce Grove, Edmonton and Hanna to visit and pick up some disc brakes from a AMC Concord. Apparently they are a bolt-on for my 56 Rambler.

I spotted these for sale in Gimli, Man right on Highway 8. I like the Chevy. Not Sure if the Dodge (Canadian model) is or sale. Looked in decent shape.

Kind of a bleak day at the "beach" yesterday. Very chilly, big waves and only two small visitors ;)

It's mazing what there is out there for sale in this Province.

Lake Winnipeg, sure can be nasty, but that beach are in the pic, is great on a hot summers day......

The green Dodge is a 1952 Crusader, the equivalent of the Plymouth Cambridge. The 1952 models used script for the series name on the front fenders while the 1951 models were in block letters.

The rear license plate lamp on the 1952 models, as you can see, had a square lamp housing with the make name as part of the housing. The 1951 models were the same as 1950 - round lamp housing and the make name a couple of inches above the housing.

The shot of Lake Winnipeg brought back memories. Used to go to Grand Beach on the east side of Lake Winnipeg as a kid. Miles of gorgeous white sand, heaven to a kid on a sunny day. But when the wind blew down the lake from the north, waves and no fun.
