Fuel Pump question...

Autozone and Napa list a fuel pump for our trucks and both differentiate between two part numbers by "D model To engine 11039 Part Number:

587 " and "D model From engine 11040 Part Number:9543 "

My engine number is T176-7572. Any idea what the above numbers are referring to? Or which pump is right?

;)Sounds like our band of brothers has re-engineered the "new" pumps. Seems easy enough.

Anyone - What about which pump to buy..

"D model To engine 11039" and "D model From engine 11040"

My engine number is T176-7572. Any idea what the above numbers are referring to? Or which pump is right for my 50 1ton?

The numbers you had given were airtex number they cross over to napa

M2090 and M2091

The engines have not changed so either pump should work (B,C, D use the same pump) ,looking at the photos on the napa site they show what looks like a difference in the size of the fuel bowl. I know for the 217 engine there was a pump with and with out a fuel bowl.

Thanks "Oldmopar" I have the bowl on my 50 1 ton 230 and the 218 on my 49 has none. What was the bowl for? Is it a fuel (water) seperator? Was teh idea that glas would let me see when I run out of gas? There is no filter in mine, should there be?

That glass bowl is a fuel filter. Or perhaps better stated, it separates out a lot of the crud by giving it a place to fall out of the gas. It also separates out any water that is in the gas

Prior to cleaning the fuel tank and replacing the line to the front of the car the glass sediment bowl on my 1933's fuel pump showed lots of crud. There is a screen at the top of the glass bowl but I think is mostly filters by allowing the junk to fall to the bottom. And if you pick up a bit of water in your gas you can see it there too.
