52diesel Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 I'm looking at grabbing a motor about 2 hours away, the guy finally sent some pics, but says he can't find a motor number. It is supposed to be out of a 52 Chrysler, running when pulled. I have a head number and what appears to be a casting date. With the pics and these numbers can anyone tell me cubic inches, popularity, etc of this motor. I am looking to replace the 218 in my 48 B1B, is it worth it? Number on head: 1311810-6 Date code bottom of block: A 5 22 50 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 in the picture on your post it appears the oil fill breather cap is covering the area where the engine number would be stamped...however..by looking at the rebulders tag on the block..odds are the block number itself could very well be shaved or never stamped..what does the blue data tag say? 52diesel Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Alright. The guy found the motor number this morning. P24. 218ci plymouth, not the big Chrysler I was hoping for, but for free minus a 2 hour drive, if it's insides are in good shape still worth it Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 on the P24..look real close at the serial number...and see if starts out with a ♦P24-****** the ♦P24 is a 230 cubic incher... Quote
