41/53dodges Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 would the glass out of a 48' truck fit in my 53' B4B? and is this even a good idea? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-dodge-glass_W0QQitemZ250597223370QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a58c22bca Quote
lugnut123 Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 That's flat glass and a local glass shop could cut it for cheap. It cost me less than 50.00 for my windshield glass. I installed them myself. Call a local shop a get an estimate. They sell it by the square foot. good luck Quote
oldmopar Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 at 50 cents it would be a good deal if you lived in klamath falls, OR, Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 He wants $50 for shipping, so you'd be better off getting some made locally. Or I'll give you a set from my '50 parts truck. They're old, but still in good shape. Merle Quote
41/53dodges Posted March 21, 2010 Author Report Posted March 21, 2010 seriously? do they have any cracks? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 No cracks. I'll try to clean them up and get some pictures of them today. Merle Quote
HanksB3B Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Does anyone have or know of someone who has factory drawings for our glass patterns. Thanks, Hank Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) Well, they cleaned up nice, but they're not perfect. They have some scratches which look like they're from bad wiper blades. Also one is showing signs of slight delamination and clouding along the edges. I believe one is a replacement glass as only one has an etching on it. Also, if I lay them together they're not the same shape like they should be (odd). If you want them thry are your's. I might even be up for a road trip to deliver them. I need some windshield time in my Ol' Dodge this spring. As with all of my spare parts, I am charging nothing. I only ask that if you are satisfied with them that you consider making a donation to my favorite charity, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Cash or checks are accepted, or you can use a credit card on my fundraising web site http://www.firstgiving.com/merle Merle Edited March 22, 2010 by Merle Coggins Quote
41/53dodges Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 hey merle, you wouldnt happen to have a lock cylinder and front fenders, would you? Quote
austinsailor Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 What kind of lock cylinder are you looking for? Door, ignition or? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 I probably do have the door lock, but no key to go with it. The front fenders I have are a bit rough, but you can have 'em if you want 'em. Merle Quote
41/53dodges Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 lookin for the door lock, i can get a key made. what exactly do you mean by "rough"? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 I'll get some pics to you, but it won't happen until after this weekend. I'll be out of town. Merle Quote
