1940plymouth Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Are the '37 and '38 Plymouth truck windsheild cranks the same? I know they most likely are like "hen's teeth" but would any of you have and extra one for a '38 PU or know where to have me look? I have an email freind in Pittsfield, MA that is in need of one for his '38 Plymouth PU Thanks, Bob Quote
David Strieb Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 I believe the '37 and '38 ply pu used the same windshield crank as on my '38 dodge pu. The pic with the blue dash is my truck, the others are file pics, but it seems the ply and dodge pu's used the same crank......I have a T50 series 1937 ply pickup engine that needs a new home if anyone is intrested....needs rebuild. David Strieb Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Forgot to say that some mopar cars of the same era used the same windshield crank, 1938 dodge for sure. I see them on ebay all the time, usually for 10 to 20 bucks unless it's nos. Quote
1940plymouth Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 David, Thanks for your replies, the owner of the Plymouth truck is suppose to call me later this evening, I'll let him know what you mentioned. Thanks again, Bob Quote
41/53dodges Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 sorry for hijacking the thread, but how does the windshield crank work for a 1941 flatbed? Quote
Robert Horne Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 On my 37 Plymouth, it has the crankout windshield. On my 38 Plymouth, it does not have the crankout windshield. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 sorry for hijacking the thread, but how does the windshield crank work for a 1941 flatbed? I think it works pretty much the same way as the earlier models. There is a steel flexible tape that attaches to the bottom of the windshield frame and a handle that turns a gear to push that tape forward. Quote
