Joe Flanagan Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Yesterday I temporarily installed the dash with the gauges in it. Today I hooked up the temp sensor and the line from the block to the oil pressure gauge. Thanks for all the help I got from the forum on that. Here are some pictures: Temp sensor to block connection: Oil pressure line connection to block: A couple of general pics of my engine in progress: Quote
greg g Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Looks good Joe. PreTty close to getting it fired up. What is theat bear paving in front of the garage??? I thought you guys got some snow........... Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 I had to shovel that out to get to the garage. Then I had to shovel enough snow out so I could open the garage doors. I think the only thing that's going to give me any delay is the radiator, which I have to have checked out. After that, I'm pretty much ready to go. Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted February 14, 2010 Author Report Posted February 14, 2010 I put 5 quarts of oil in it today. Also did some of the wiring. I'm using the cloth covered wire from the Brillman Co., which is really nice. But as is often the case, I had a setback. While tightening one of the wires from the voltage regulator to the generator, I snapped off one of the terminals on the generator. I was surprised at how easy the thing just twisted off. Took the generator off, took it apart, tried to pull off a MacGuyver and fashion a new bolt myself but no luck. They're very unusual. I haven't gone shopping for a replacement yet but will probably get one out of a boneyard. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Joe, If there is one on the generator you have from me, please feel free to take it off and use it. Jim Yergin Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted February 14, 2010 Author Report Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks, Jim. I checked it out and that generator has a few differences. The construction of the terminals being one. Quote
