Hey guys,I received my left front floor panel from Rock Auto today. I can say I was not 100% happy. When I first got it I noticed that 3 holes for the throttle linkage were not drilled. The Clutch and brake pedal holes were round so the draft seals that I bought yesterday will need to be modified. I also tried to fit the gas pedal linkage(Thanks Ed, I received that today also :)) and one of the holes was off so I had to re-drill that. Also the notch for the high beam switch was not there. When I went to fit the panel it would not lay flat so I had to do some forming of the panel for it to fit correctly. Once it was fitted I had to elongate 3 of the screw holes so they would line up. It was a project I did not expect but I guess this is why the price is low. All and all I would recommend this product but be prepared to do some work. Now I just have to paint it :D.

Here are some pics

Ain't it like Chistmas when you get new plymouth parts!:D Did it say where it was made on the box?

It may not fit quite right, but its infinitely better than anything I could do. Gotta be worth the money.

As the guy who built my house said, "beat to fit and paint to match".

Either they don't offer floor pannels for the 46,7 and 8 models or I'm missing something on their site? When I click on body parts it just offers convertable tops.

280 each side what a rip off!! i sold a complete front set for 125 and thought that was to much, i better adjust my pricing to match the going rate i guess.

Have not checked with them, but that is probably a website error. Shows the same way for the Dodge. It is one piece and not a drivers' side and passenger's side.

But could be $280 a side up through 48:confused:

I saw that the other night while I was shoppin around and that was the only price I found. Most places I saw you had to call for price. I still need to make a few calls. Dezeldoc, the ones you sold were they NOS?

Here it is all painted up and with the gas pedal installed (Thanks again Ed). I used 1 and a 1/4 inch weather striping on the backside. I just have to wait for my pedal draft seals and modify them to fit the new round holes then I will be good to go :D .

Look's good , you've done a nice job with that! Fwiw anytime you buy something like that plan on doing alot hammering and dollying . About 10 years ago i bought two 1/4 panel skins from year one for my Road Runner and talk about cussin up a storm ! I felt like i could've almost bought 2 sheets of 8x4 and done a better job .... but like you , in the end i was happy .

I think JerseyHarold is going to pick up my old pan this weekend. He is going to try and piece it together with one he has to make a good one.

Yup! I'll finally be able to use my Harbor Freight coupon-special welder that's been in my garage for the past year or two.

I looked at this web site the other day when a member suggested it.

The Plymouth panels obviously look like the originals per the above photo, but none of the larger car panels even look familiar for the 46-48 items. I have the Desoto and Chrysler both of which I am VERY familiar.

One would think that a supplier would figure out on short notice that the passenger compartment components on all three--Dodge/Desoto/Chrysler-- are almost identical. Certainly close enough that we could "fiddle" with any minor differences.

I was really disappointed with "Plymouth Doctor" after the original hype. Of course, the bad economy may have had a hand in his lack of progress. I really felt that he started with the best intentions.

Speaking of floorboards, has anyone ever found a source for the cover for the master cylinder hole in the floorboard? I've never seen one from a vendor or ebay.

Thanks thrashingcows, If anyone installs this panel install the throttle linkage "L" bracket(seen in second picture of post #20)on the panel then install the panel if room allows. I put it on after and it was a pain to get it into place.

I used one of the fasteners that is used to hold the kick panels up for the access cover. Works great, I had to bend the fastener a little for a tighter fit.

Good work on that floor piece.

I was going to suggest that if the rectangular draft pads didn't

work, you can go to Lowe's home store and look in their drawer

section of hardware......get a couple round rubber gaskets. They

will work, as shown. Pretty cheap, too. I just removed the pedal,

slid them down the shaft and gently pushed them thru the floor

opening with a screwdriver. The raised ring on the shaft keeps

them in place. Actually used two of the gaskets per pedal.
