Been busy working on the 51 lately. I'm just about done building the rockers and floorboards for it. I ran my exhaust through the passenger box tubing and just cut holes in it for my outlets. They are rough cut for now, but I will clean them up soon. Not sure if it will work or not, but I'm going to give it a try. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and hope to have this thing on the road in a month or so

Wow, that looks really nice. I love seeing pictures like this. I think the condition of the floors often determines whether or not an old relic will be saved. Seeing all that new metal in there is great. Reminds me of when I did mine. Are you going to weld continuous seams or leave it tack-welded? I had to replace the same sections in mine that you did.

I think I'm going to wrap the entire system with some header wrap. Not sure about the box tubing. If it doesn't work I will just build a regular exhaust system. I thought I would at least give it a shot:)

A good looking job there. 95% of the floor on my 38 was replaced with steel from a hot water tank company, thick but not too difficult to bend by hand, must be soft steel. Your piping looks real good. Did my pipes before I put in the floor, made it alot easier. Nice photos...

thanks guys, ruth your floors turned out nice...I still need alot of finish welding and a few more small patches here and there. I used 18 guage steel and borrowed my dads harbor freight bead roller. I'm going to make continuous seems at the rockers for sure. Probably mostly tack it, but alot of tacks I think. After the welding is done I'm going to rhino line the floor since the car does not have a roof:D

Slick:

I think you may want to head over this way and practice on my floors before welding yours on up, Kinda look a little rusty.:D

It looks great! I'm doing my floors like Ruth's. I call it Frankenstiening it..
