Manifold heat riser kit update

Heater rise update. I was looking for a heat riser kit for the manifold of my long block Canadian 251. First place I phoned was Vintage Power Wagons and they said they only had them for the short block and that the long block was different.

I then phoned Antique Auto Parts Cellar and they said they had them and they were the same for both engines. I told them what VPW had told me and he went to check his parts book. VPW was correct but he said that he had both in stock so I ordered from him. $49.50 plus shipping which I think is reasonable. I also ordered a couple of the long manifold studs that I will use in place of the bolts that I am taking out, one of which broke off. These are the two longer studs of about 3 1/2". All the rest are way shorter and I have lots of those spare.

Anyway, good to know that the heat riser kits are available for both the short and long block engine manifolds.

Hi Robert..Good price on the parts-Nice he had the kit in stock.I picked up manifold studs locally,slightly longer than required.Cut off the excess. Ralph

Guess they haven't raised their prices much. As mentioned in that other thread, that's about what I paid back in 1998.

Actually, when I called to order my kit back in 98 I was told they made the kits. So.......even if they didn't have them in stock, it probably wouldn't take long to get one from them.
