Brad Lustig Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Well, Hollywood, SC, that is. A buddy of mine told the film maker about my car and he's using it in a scene in a movie about the history of jazz in Charleston. It's going to be a fictional movie based on reality. Anyway, I'm trying to track down a similar car that has a radio that they can get a quick shot of since my car doesn't have a radio. If anyone knows of anyone with a car that might work in the Charleston area, please have them get in touch with me. 843-367-1060 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Brad...how soon and do you want to borrow a radio....be for looks as have not tested either of them. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Brad, That sounds real familiar. When I first put up the web pages with my coupe I got an email too from some movie maker in NY. Wanted a black and white picture of my coupe on a country road for Jazz Historical movie. Gave them the pictures, then never heard anything after that. That was late 90's. Maybe you could just use a radio face in your car instead of the whole radio. Quote
Brad Lustig Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 I thought about calling you about that, Tim. But we're shooting this Sunday and a first screening on the 22nd, I think. It's really just a grant budget film. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Brad, that sounds great! They can get around that radio thing. I have radios in all my cars and I have never seen them shot the interior of a car only the actors and there face from an head on veiw. Don't forget to sign for the yaxes to be taken out before you get your check! I am paying alot this year because that money looked so good on paper. good luck break a leg. I wish I was there! Quote
Brad Lustig Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'm not getting much of anything for this movie since it's a grant budget and a local movie. Will cover gas and a little bit of time. I got in touch with John Munz and they may take a shot of his interior. Since it's a film about jazz, I think the radio shot is somewhat critical. I tried to give the director a couple ways around it, but he was really wanting that shot. I'll drive the car for all of the shots except one short scene, I think. It's always fun to watch someone wrap their head around what fluid drive is so that will be a little bit of entertainment at least. Quote
Guest Nile Limbaugh Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I knew a kid who was taking movie courses at Florida State. He asked me if I would be in a movie he was making for the class and, ham that I am, I said I would. I had to go to a local supermarket at 8:00 pm for the scene I was in. When I drove up in my 49 F*** pickup he was blown away and changed my scene to include the pickup! BUT . . . I was there until after 3:00 in the morning and the scene lasted about 3 minutes! Talk about boring . . . and I didn't even get paid! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Brad, aren't there any other Dodges like yours......or P15 Plymouths.....in your area. They could take a radio shot of a Plymouth, and no one would know the difference as long as they missed the Plym nameplate above the radio grille. Have them take a picture of this picture........... Or, here is another shot..... Quote
Brad Lustig Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Actually, I think everything is all taken care of. My car will be in the shot, and the director is going to contact John Munz (P15) to try to get a shot of his car radio. That's probably the shot they'll go for, Bob. One thing about this deal is this will probably be the longest distance I've driven my Dodge. Keeping my fingers crossed about that. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 If you can make it as far as Red Top..you can push it to Hollywood... Quote
